Katha Samvidhanam Kunchacko: New Shylock

Katha Samvidhanam Kunchacko, starring acclaimed actor, screenwriter and director Sreenivasan in the lead role, will start rolling by the end of next month at locations in Kottayam and Pala. Haridas Keshavan of Kannur, Indraprastham, Maaraatha Naadu and Kinnaripuzhayoram will direct the film.

Katha Samvidhanam Kunchacko is about a business magnate Kunchacko. Although illiterate, Kunchacko can speak seven languages, including English. He is the owner of a private bank, medical college, multiplex supermarket and many other private institutions.

Born in a poor family, Kunchacko has a notorious background. He became a business magnate only through cruelty and shrewdness. He has no reputation, not even in his family circles. His brothers try their level best to make Kunchacko a polished man, but in vain. Finally, their parish priest advises them to persuade him to marry. Due to continuous pressure from his family, Kunchacko marries a software engineer (Meena). Whether Kunchacko changes after marriage constitutes the rest of the plot.

Other cast members include Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Jagathy, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrans, Suresh Krishna, Tony Augusttin, Lakshmi Priya, Sona Nair and others.

Sajith Menon will handle the camera while Tej Mervin will set music to lyrics penned by Gireesh Puthencherry. The script is handled by Dennis. Produced by Manoj Ram Singh under the banner of Marvel Productions, the film is expected to be released in January next year.
