well-known
for
acting
as
mother
to
most
Malayalam
actors,
will
produce
a
film
titled
Megha
Theertham,
based
on
a
short
story
'Amma'
written
by
Unni
Krishnan
and
published
10
years
ago.
Unni
Krishnan
narrated
the
story
to
Kaviyoor
Ponnamma
recently
and
she
immediately
got
interested
in
producing
the
film.
Megha
Theertham
will
be
a
musical
extravaganza,
evolving
around
the
life
of
Gayathri,
a
violinist
who
sacrificed
her
whole
life
for
music.
Kaviyoor
Ponnamma,
who
won
the
Kerala
State
Award
for
Best
Supporting
Actress
in
1971,
1972,
1973,
and
1994
for
various
roles,
will
enact
the
central
role
as
Gayathri
in
the
film,
to
be
directed
by
Unni
Krishnan,
who
has
directed
a
number
of
serials
and
commercials.
Megha
Theertham
will
be
his
debut
venture
as
a
film
director.
Actress
Padmapriya,
Lakshmi
and
Tamil
actor
Prabhu
will
don
meaty
roles
in
the
film
which
also
has
Jagathi
Sreekumar,
Captain
Raju,
Mani
Kuttan
and
Dakshina
Moorthi,
Bhama
and
Muktha
in
other
roles.
There
are
six
songs
in
this
film.
Music
director
Sarath
will
set
the
music
for
lyrics
written
by
Gireesh
Puthencherry.
The
singers
are
Yesudas,
Sreenivasan,
Hari
Haran,
K.S.
Chitra
and
Sujatha.
The
movie
will
be
shot
at
Palghat,
Kozhikode
and
Thanjavoor.
