Mohanlal replaces Mammootty in Kudumbachitram

After his sensational debut with Katha Parayumbol (2007), one of the finest films made in Malayalam in recent times, director M. Mohanan now returns with Kudumbachitram, starring Mohanlal in the lead.

Mohanan, brother-in-law of veteran Sreenivasan and a former associate of director Sathyan Anthikkad, was originally waiting quite some months for Mammootty to allot dates for Kudumbachitram, but the project was delayed due non-availablility of suitable dates. Finally, this young director chose Mohanlal for the project.

Like Katha Parayumbol, Kudumbachitram will also be a family-based subject. The script is handled by the director himself. Produced by Maha Subair under the banner of Varnachitra, who made the recent Prithviraj-starrer Thirakkatha, Kudumbachitram is expected to start rolling by the second quarter of 2009.
