Mammootty's
first
film
with
internationally
reputed
director
Shaji
N.
Karun,
titled
Kutty
Shranku,
to
be
produced
by
Anil
Ambani's
Reliance
Entertainment,
will
be
shot
in
three
schedules
in
and
around
the
famous
Vembanad
Kayal,
the
scenic
lake
stretching
from
Alappuzha
to
Kumarakom.
The
three
schedules
are
necessary
as
weather
and
season
play
an
important
part
in
the
story,
director
Shaji
N.
Karun
said.
The
locations
chosen
for
Kutty
Shranku
are
Kaavaalam,
Kumarakom
and
Vaikkom,
in
the
backwaters
of
central
Travancore.
In
fact,
Shaji
is
waiting
for
the
monsoon
to
come!
Mammootty
will
feature
as
a
sailor
who
operates
a
goods
boat
(Charakku
Kappal)
between
Kondugnaloor
and
Kollam
through
the
backwaters
of
Kerala.
There
will
be
three
heroines
in
the
film,
mostly
from
Bollywood.
As
per
the
story,
Mammootty's
character
in
the
film
will
have
three
lady
loves
in
the
three
islands
he
visits.
Mammootty,
who
has
already
done
films
with
all
the
masters
in
Malayalam
cinema,
is
teaming
up
for
the
first
time
with
Shaji,
who
has
bagged
several
national
and
international
recognitions
with
his
debut
movie
Piravi
and
Vanaprastham.
The
script
is
penned
jointly
by
Shaji
N.
Karun
and
noted
British
writer
Farukh
Dhondy.
The
film
will
be
made
in
Malayalam
with
English
subtitles
for
an
international
audience.
Shaji
N.
Karun
will
start
shooting
Kutty
Shranku
as
soon
as
monsoon
begins.
