Kutty Shranku to begin next month

Shaji N. Karun's new venture Kutty Shranku featuring Mammootty will start shooting by the middle of June. The movie is set in the 1950s and has the weather playing an important part in it.

Shooting is scheduled in June so that the monsoon can be captured on camera for the movie. Most of the scenes will be shot around the backwaters of Kovalam, Kumarakom and Vaikkom. Shaji is planning to premiere the film in the famous Venice film festival.. The movie will also feature Meera Jasmine in an important role.

This is the first time that Mammootty and Shaji are teaming up; this is also the first venture of Anil Ambani's newly-launched Reliance Entertainment.

The script of the film is rumored to be penned by Shaji and Farukh Dhondi (Bandit Queen).
