Twenty:20 envisages another unwelcome movement from a Fans Association. Mohanlal fans' association has planned to boycott the film. But why? The cause of this boycott is the alleged 'improper prominence' given to Mammootty in the poster designed for Twenty:20, in which he is positioned beside Mammootty. Mammootty appears in the in the centre with Mohanlal, Sureshgopi, Jayaram and Dilip appears on his left and right. Fans believe that by putting Mammootty at the centre, they have given less importance to Lal.
Lal Fans' Association president Vimal Kumar had discussions with Dilip about this problem but abstained from the meetings Dilip convened connected with the release of the film. Dilip said that this film is for all the Fans' associations. Lal fans demanded that the poster should be redesigned to satisfy all the fans. They suggested that Dilip could be kept in the centre of the poster since he is the producer. They are adamant that two different posters should be designed; otherwise Mohanlal's fans will not cooperate with the celebrations that would be held on the release day. Lal Fans' association treasurer Babu Raj said that they would just watch the film without any revelry.
On the other hand, Mammootty Fans say that a grand celebration would be organized on the release day. Mammootty Fans' association secretary Shaju Kuttampilly said, "We do not know how much importance they have given to Mammootty. If he is given less importance, then also we will welcome this cinema because this is totally a different project by AMMA." He also said he contacted Lal Fans association to celebrate the release jointly but they rejected the proposal.
