MACTA lashes against non-members

By Staff

The general council meeting of the Malayalam Cine Technicians Association Federation (MACTA) has decided not to allow all those who are not members in any of the registered film unions from working in the sets. President Vinayan announced the decision in a press meet after the general council meeting convened at Kochi on Friday.

Those who have resigned from MACTA recently can return to the association within one month and they will be given membership. The members who quit and formed a separate union will also be permitted in the sets, he added.

The federation will take necessary steps to resolve the raging controversy on the Dilip-Tulasidas issue that triggered the recent battle and split in MACTA. MACTA will also send notices to producers to provide minimum wages to all workers in the film field.
