Mammootty
Several prominent actors of Malayalam cinema like Thilakan, Nedumudi Venu,Rajan P. Dev and K.P.A.C. Lalitha started their careers as stage artists and later moved on to the dream world of cinema. It did not surprise anyone when Mohanlal, a highly accomplished actor in Indian cinema, decided to try his hand in stage. Mohanlal took it as a challenge to act on stage, which is harder than acting in films. There are no retakes, the actor cannot afford to make a mistake as he performs live on stage and he can instantly know the reactions of the audience.

The success of his first play Karnabharam inspired Mohanlal to go for another play titled Chayyamukhi. Now, following Mohanlal, Mammootty, one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema has decided to go on stage. He is currently going through the rehearsals of his play Bheeman. The play, which is 40 minutes in length, is based on the novel Randaamoozham by M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Mammootty will play the roles of both Yudhistiran and Arjunan in the play and the first show will be held at LULU Centre, Thrissur.
