Parunthu takes off tomorrow

The shooting of Parunthu, which was earlier expected to begin in April, will start from tomorrow, ie, 10th May in Kozhikkode. After the recent super hit Annan Thampi, Mammootty, who was busy shooting for Twenty:20, Pazhassi Raja and Vande Mataram, will join the sets tomorrow.

The film, scripted by T.A. Razak, tells the story of Gillette Purushothaman, a crude money lender with an iron heart, who collects money by any means from his borrowers. Glamour-conscious tall siren Navneet Kaur, Lakhsmi Rai and Roma will be the female leads. Parunthu will also feature Jayasuriya and Kalabhavan Mani in important roles.

The flick, produced by Howly Pottur under the banner of Dream Team Productions, is directed by M. Padmakumar. The pooja and recording of Parunthu was held recently at White Fort, Kochi. The makers are planning to release it on July 4.
