Mohanlal resumes shoot for Swapnamalika

Superstar Mohanlal has joined the third schedule of Swapnamalika at Nagercoil. He has allotted ten days for this film, since the shoot of the Indo-Japanese venture Nair San has been postponed. After completing Swapnamalika, Mohanlal will join Priyadarshan to proceed to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by Karimbil Films, Swapnamalika features Mohanlal as Dr. Appu Nair who comes from the US to New Delhi for a medical conference. Israeli actress Elena appears as Radha Karmel, who meets Appu Nair on her journey to Kasi to perform the last rites of her husband. Appu strikes a friendship with Radha which takes him on a journey to Kerala, where they discover new facets to their relationship.

Mohanlal makes his debut as a scriptwriter with Swapnamalika, being directed by K.B. Devaraj. Other cast members include Meera Jasmine, Nedumudi Venu, Sukumari, Kaviyoor Ponnama, Jagathy Sreekumar and others.

Famous playback singer M.G. Sreekumar makes a comeback as music director through this movie giving tunes to lyrics written by Aparna Karimpil, daughter of late director Devarajan.

The movie is expected to grace theatres by the second week of October and has already completed the majority of its shoot at Varanasi and Kasi.
