Mohanlal turns writer

Having more than 25 years of acting experience, superstar Mohanlal is for the first time planning to move behind the screen as a screenplay writer for a Malayalam movie called Swapnamalika.

The film will be directed by K.B. Devaraj and the superstar himself will be cast in the lead role of Dr. Appu Nair, who works in a research project in an American university. Elina, an Englishwoman, will be the heroine. The movie is scheduled to be shot at Varanasi, Allahabad, Delhi and Ottappalam.

Earlier, Prithviraj was scheduled to be cast in an important role with Lal, but now thae movie has been rearranged with the new story written by the superstar, which will not feature Prithviraj in the cast. M.G. Sreekumar is the music director and sets to music four songs written by Aparna Karimbil.
