Naalu Pennungal going places

Naalu Pennungal by Adoor Gopalakrishnan was picked for an upcoming festival by the Belgian Royal Film Archive.

Authenticity, peculiarity of purpose and novelty of treatment were some of the qualities that were looked for while choosing the films. Naalu Pennungal was one of the 20 best films in the festival"s worldwide selection.

Naalu Pennungal will compete with nineteen other films for the prestigious L'age d'Or (Golden Age) prize, named after the master film-maker Luis Bunueal. The Festival, into its 33rd year, will take place in Brussels in July.

Naalu Pennungal has already garnered quite a few awards and critical acclaim after doing the rounds of festivals in the international circuit.
