Renjith shifts base

Scriptwriter-turned-director Renjith, who emerged as a leading director after Ravana Prabhu, Mizhi Randilum and Nandanam, is all set to debut in Kollywood with an untitled movie with Prithviraj and Karthika in the lead.

Ranjith is well-known as a script-writer and has scripted over 35 films, including Devasuram, which turned him into a top-notch scriptwriter. But recently, he was going through turbulent times following big flops like Prajapathy, Chandrotsavam and Rock N Roll. However, he is hoping to get lucky this time with Prithviraj, who was introduced to cinema by Renjith eight years ago.

As an important diversion in his career path, Renjith also has plans to produce another commercial movie in Malayalam with his former assistant, hit film-maker Anwar Rasheed. Renjith is also concentrating on his own productions under the banner of Capital Cinema.
