Priyamani and Mamta go the Bhakti Way

Sabarimala Sri Ayyappa, directed by Sasi Mohan, is being simultaneously produced in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam starring Kaushik Babu in the title role. National Award winner Priyamani and Mamta Mohandas have the privilege to play the heroines in this devotional movie.

The producers of the film, Anaswara Charitable Trust, have stated in a press release that the movie's main highlight would be a seven minute song glorifying Lord Ayyappan. They have also said that the movie will glorify the spirit of Ayyappa as previous films that were taken based on the Ayyappan legend were only based on short incidents. Sabarimala Sri Ayyappa, on the other hand, will be based on a longer story that pontificates the spirit of Ayyappan.

The temple, which only men can enter (women from the age of 11 years to around 50 years are denied entry), is thronged with devotees from November to January. The film, producers say, would be a great joy for all devotees, who wish to know more about their beloved brahmachari lord.

Mohini, Thilakan, Biju Menon and many more are also acting in this mega-budget devotional film.
