Siddique returns to Malayalam

It has been a long time since Siddique directed a film in Malayalam, his last being Chronic Bachelor in 2003. After a gap of five years, director Siddique is all set to become active in Mollywood again with a slew of films in the offing.

Dileep is cast in the lead role in his next Malayalam film Bodyguard, to be produced by Johnny Sagarika. Siddique has plans to start the shoot for Bodyguard by mid-August. After Bodyguard, Siddique will direct a Mohanlal-starrer, details regarding which are still awaited. Bodyguard is likely to be released in 2008, while Siddique's Mohanlal-starrer will be released during Vishu (April) 2009.

After these two movies, Siddique will do a film with Mammootty, to be produced by Shahul Hameed Marikkar and Anto Joseph under the banner of Marikkar Films, and to be released during Christmas 2009.

Tamil film Sadhu Miranda was the last directorial venture by Siddique, who teamed up with Lal (Siddique-Lal) to give Malayalam film industry some of its all time super hit comedy films like Ramji Rao Speaking, In Harihar Nagar, Godfather, Vietnam Colony, Kabooliwala and Mannar Mathai Speaking.
