S P B to debut in Malayalam

Divine singer S.P. Balasubramaniam, also known as SPB, has been acting in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films for over twenty years as a character artist in a wide range of roles. He has already proved to be an outstanding actor, portraying memorable roles in Keladi Kanmani, Sigaram, Kaadalan and Pavithra Bhandam (for which he won Andhra Pradesh government's State award for the Best Supporting Actor in 1996) and many other movies.

However, SPB has not acted in Malayalam films so far,though he sang a few songs in Malayalam. Now, this prolific actor-singer is all set to debut in Malayalam with Parayan Baaki Vechathu, a musical love story to be directed by newcomer Unni. It is heard that Tamil sensational hero Kamal Hassan will also act in this film.

Produced by P.T. Salim and Shaji Nadesan under the banner of Green Advertising and Bravo films, Parayan Baaki Vechathu gives equal importance to love and music. According to sources, SPB will have a very important role.

Script is handled by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and camera by Utpal V. Nayanar. Sarath scores music for lyrics written Gireesh Puthencherry. Other cast members include Mukesh, Vineeth, Manikuttan, Jagathi Sreekumar, Murali, Mamu Koya, Megha Nadhan, Spadikam George, Yavanika Gopala Krishnan
