IDBI supports Swapnamalika

What will a director do if he finds it increasingly difficult to fund his movies? The director of Swapnamalika, which stars Mohanlal in the lead, will give answer this question - IDBI (Industrial Development Bank Of India).

IDBI, which has earlier supported around 80 Hindi and Tamil films, has agreed to provide the film with finance of four crores at minimal interest rates. This makes Swapnamalika the first Malayalam film to receive financial support from IDBI.

K.B. Devaraj, director of Swapnamalika, said that it is better to approach IDBI for financial assistance than going to private financiers. Shooting for the film has already started at Ernakulam. The film will also be shot at Varanasi, Allahabad, Delhi and Ottappalam.

Mohanlal appears in a dual role in the movie which features Israeli actress Elena as the heroine. Meera Jasmine, Jagathy and Nedumudi Venu will play pivotal roles. Ace singer M.G. Sreekumar has composed the music.
