B.
Unnikrishnan,
director
of
Madambi,
is
heard
to
be
planning
a
film
titled
Thiruthu,
based
on
the
famous
short
story
of
the
same
name
by
N.S.
Madhavan.
Unnikrishnan
is
said
to
have
started
working
on
the
script.
If
all
goes
well,
the
film
will
grace
theatres
within
a
few
months.
Unnikrishnan
also
prefers
to
produce
this
small
budget
movie
and
it
should
be
interesting
to
see
the
big
screen
version
of
this
award-winning
short
story.
Meanwhile,
Madambi
featuring
Mohanlal
and
Kavya
Madhavan
together
for
the
first
time,
is
still
running
successfully
in
26
theatres
across
Kerala
and
is
set
to
complete
50
days.
It
is
still
getting
good
response
from
the
viewers
and
has
reportedly
made
a
profit
of
Rs.
3
crores
till
date.
Mohanlal
plays
the
role
of
a
money-lender
who
is
also
a
language
lover
in
Madambi.
His
business
is
threatened
when
a
bank
opens
its
branch
in
the
village
offering
loans
at
a
much
lower
interest
rate.
The
bank
manager
(Kavya
Madhavan)
and
Mohanlal
are
business
rivals,
constantly
at
loggerheads,
and
later
predictably
fall
in
love.
