Casanova is clouded in controversies in a succession. The grapevine goes that the debacle of the much hyped Mohanlal movie, Sagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded at the box office has struck the last nail in the coffin of Casanova. Casanova featuring the Mohanlal - Roshan Andrews team was already fighting against tumultous storms, when the producers, the Confident Group of companies withdrew from the project.

While some claim that certain pending visa formalities are the real cause of the delay, others clearly state that the Confident group would no longer be associated with this movie. There are also confusions surrounding the shooting locations of the movie.

Casanova planned as a mega Onam release of the superstar, has been in the news for sometime, for reasons good or bad. The movie was planned on a large scale marking the debut of the Tamil actor Arya and five other top notch heroines including Bhavana, Lakshmi Rai and others. The pooja of the movie was conducted at Confidante Cascade, Bangalore in a opulent function.

Reasons may be multifarious, but we cannot overlook the fact that movies are in effect market-dictated commodities and that our superstars are also human beings who cannot defy the law of life. Age spares no one and its time that Mohanlal keeps check of his hitherto safeguarded hero image.
