Gopika launches younger sister Glini

Established actors introducing their sisters into silver screens is not a new phenomenon in India. In Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty introduced her sister Shamita Shetty; in Southern films, we have seen the Travancore sisters, and more recently Nagma-Jyothika and Kajal Agarwal-Ishta Agarwal. Now, it is the turn of popular South Indian actress Gopika, who got married to Dr. Ajilesh last year.

According to sources, Gopika is all set to introduce her younger sister Gliny into films in an untitled Malayalam film by debutant director S. Binu Kumar. Gliny is to play the pivotal role as actor Mukesh"s daughter. Like her sister Gopika, Gliny will be soon be renamed by her director. She is now doing hospital management at Little Flower hospital, Angamaly.

"I have been getting offers for the last two years, but I was concentrating on my studies. I have read the complete script and this role is really tempting me," Gliny said. The story is about Narendran, a widower living with his daughter. Mridhula, who has divorced her husband, comes to stay in their neighbourhood and Narendran slowly falls in love with her. The story takes an unexpected turn from this point.

The film has music by Jaison J. Nair and lyricist by Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma. Dialogue is by Santhosh Rajasekhar and Jayasree Kumar. The movie is produced by R.P. Suresh Kumar under the banner of Bhagyadhara films. The film will be shot at the locations of Thodupuzha.
