What went wrong with Kavya's marriage?

If Kavya Madhavan's move to seek divorce has come as a shocker, then how would the Malayalam audiences digest the fatal news that their darling actress has attempted suicide, unable to cope with the mental trauma in her marital life. That the actresses of these days are virtually enjoying a catwalk in and out of their married life has been time and again testified by both the new and old generation actresses like Urvashi, Saritha, Revathy, Meera Vasudev and the latest entrants Meena and Kavya.

Kavya had hardly taken the nuptial vows in February when with erratic monsoons in July her hopes have been dashed and she is out there to seek divorce from her husband. Though no official confirmation has been got both from Kavya and Nishal, much news is doing the rounds that the actress has undergone severe mental stress and was often subject to emotional blackmailing. She was tormented not only by her husband but also his family. The conditions infact worsened when she left for Kuwait from Thiruvananthapuram.

Akin to the ideal Indian woman of the days of yore Kavya had proclaimed to the media that she would not act after marriage. At the time of marriage, Nishal Chandra had cheerfully satisfied the hungry media with his reply that Kavya can henceforth act in her real life and not onscreen. However as per sources, Nishal under financial cringe suddenly changed his mind and asked Kavya to continue with her acting career. When the actress refused to comply with him, he resorted to stringent measures. He had also transferred her bank accounts to his name. Kavya had confided in her close friends that she cannot forsee her future with Nishal and that he does not have a secure job.

The actress' parents have finally confronted the media and stated clearly that there are tensions between the couple but, divorce is definitely not on the cards. They have also stated that everything can be amicably sorted out. Her parents have categorically said that Kavya has no need to hide anything from the media. They also expressed shock and disbelief at the suicide attempt news, when she was with them.

Well, let us wait for the final word right from the horse's mouth when everything will be out in the open and till then patience is the most sought after virtue, both for Kavya and her loving fans.
