P
Vasu
is
coming
up
with
a
sequel
to
the
superhit
Tamil
movie
Chandramukhi,
a
remake
of
the
hit
Malayalam
movie
Manichitrathazhu.
Earlier
the
news
was
doing
the
rounds
that
P
Vasu
was
desperately
trying
to
rope
in
Rajinikanth
in
the
sequel
as
well.
Rajinikanth
had
essayed
the
role
of
the
doctor
in
the
prequel.
However,
as
per
latest
sources,
Mammootty
has
been
offered
that
role
by
P
Vasu.
P
Vasu
who
has
been
making
the
sequel
with
Vishnuvardhan
in
Kannada
had
earlier
approached
Rajinikanth
for
the
same
role
in
the
Tamil
version.
Rajinikanth
who
was
overwhelmed
by
the
script
decided
to
convey
his
information
within
two
weeks
time.
However
when
Vasu
called
him
after
two
weeks,
Rajinikanth
politely
refused
on
the
pretext
that
he
has
no
dates
for
the
next
two
years.
Sources
attribute
it
to
the
debacle
of
Kuselan
at
the
box
office.
P
Vasu
who
realized
that
Rajinikanth
had
politely
avoided
him
decided
to
go
ahead
with
the
project
in
Tamil
and
so
approached
Mammootty,
who
has
considerable
star
value
in
Tamil
as
well.
However
Mammootty
has
not
responded
to
that
till
now
and
it
needs
to
be
seen
whether
the
superstar
would
concede
to
P
Vasu's
request.
