Mohanlal to join the Territorial Army

Mohanlal symbolizes versatality, so it has not come as a surprise when the superstar expressed his wish to join the Territorial Army (TA), the voluntary part-time civilian force. Last year, the actor was conferred with the much coveted title of Lieutenant Colonel.

Mohanlal has been interested in joining the army ever since his college days. But as fate would have it he has been destined to be an actor.

Regarding the fomalities for joining the Territorial Army, Mohanlal has to undergo training at the TA"s 122 Infantry Battalion of Madras Regiment in Kannur. Commanding officer of the Kannur Regiment had met him recently and given him the necessary requriements, like the equipments for carrying out the training.

Once the training is over, the superstar will go to New Delhi where the Chief of Army Staff will commission the star into Indian Army. Mohanlal has essayed the role of an Army officer in the silver screen in movies like Kurukshetra and Keertichakra and so on. However, this is going to be every inch a reality.
