Neelathamara is to be remade

Neelathamara which was made 30 years back is to be remade. The 1979 movie scripted by M T Vasudevan Nair had marked the directorial debut of lyricist and writer Yousaf Ali Kechery. The movie was also significant in signalling the debut of the actress Ambika who then went on to make it to the top slot. Ravikumar and Sathar essayed the heroes' roles in the movie.

None other than director Lal Jose has decided to remake the movie by joining hands with producer Suresh Kumar. New comer Archana will essay the role played by Ambika while Kamlesh and Ambika's brother Suresh will step into the roles played by Ravikumar and Sathar respectively.

Recently at a function held at Hotel Avenue Regency in Ernakulam, M.T Vasudevan Nair graced the occasion when the original 1979 team including Ambika, Ravikumar and Sathar came to shower their blessings on the upcoming new team. The pooja was unique in every sense as Malayalam film industry officially gets a remake.
