Plus Two: Changing Malayalam cinema

Prince, Faizal, Shambu, Mathews and Ranjith are plus two students who study together and live together. Prince' parents being abroad, they stay together at his villa with the servant Lalappan who is crazy about movies, to give them company. Living life to their fullest and enjoying these teenage moments with freedom is the motto of their life.

At this juncture, Meenakshi and her mother come in search of Parvathy, her elder sister. She had abandoned her family years ago to live with her lover. All that the mother and daughter have with them is the address of this villa. The boys take pity on the helpless mother and daughter and give them shelter. The worst befalls, when the ailing mother dies and the boys are caught in a fix.

The story reaches an interesting climax with the five boys deciding to share their home with Meenakshi. Plus Two by debutant director Shaibi has newcomers in the key roles along with veterans Saikumar, Salim Kumar, Manian Pillai Raju, K P A C Lalitha, Geetha Vijayan, Sona Nair and others.

With new comers Roshan, Vishnu Mohan, Justine John, Deepak Murali, Sajin and Shafna, Plus Two seems to travel along a new path encouraging novelty of ideas and new tone for Malayalam cinema. The screenplay and dialogues are by Jain George and the music is by Manu Ramesh.
