National
award
winner
Priyadarshan
is
basking
in
the
glory
of
his
success
and
his
much
acclaimed
movie
Kanchivaram.
It
has
given
a
new
perspective
to
the
filmmaker
who
has
been
thus
far
branded
as
an
out
and
out
commercial
director.
This
Tamil
movie
with
its
realistic
overtones
has
given
new
meanings
to
the
genre
of
cinema.
The
latest
buzz
is
that
the
filmmaker
is
planning
to
make
one
movie
in
Malayalam
by
next
year.
He
revealed
this
while
addressing
the
media
when
he
came
to
inaugurate
the
Akira
Kurosawa
film
festival.
''I
am
not
yet
sure
of
which
film
I
will
be
doing,
but
I
have
made
up
my
mind
to
do
one
by
2010.
I
still
have
plans
to
do
more
realistic
movies
after
'Kanchivaram".
But
I
have
no
plans
to
quit
commercial
movies
for
concentrating
on
this
alternate
genre
of
movies.''
If
movies
are
not
enough,
then
the
filmmaker
is
also
planning
to
take
part
in
the
IPL
auction
next
year,
though
his
chances
of
winning
oscillate
between
brightness
and
bleakness.
