Resul wants Malayalam cinema to explore

By Super Admin

Malayalam cinema should explore the awareness on movie technology generated after the country scored a hat-trick at this year"s Academy Awards, Oscar award winner Resul Pookutty said in his reply speech at the mammoth reception organised by Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce at Durbar Hall Hall Ground in Kochi on Wednesday.

Pookutty said that if the Cultural Department has plans to organise workshops, he is happy and ready to co-operate in such ventures. “I am sad that Slumdog Millionaire did not win an award for sound design, though it won Oscar for sound-mixing. It is not my achievement alone. I had the honour to work with two other greats in the field including Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp. The shooting of Slumdog Millionaire was difficult. We had worked on a new recording method in the movie. It was different as the recording was natural," he said.

Fazal Gafoor, president of Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce, presided over the function, which was attended by many eminent personalities, including director Sibi Malayil.
