Director Amal Neerad-Mohanlal team's much-hyped action extravaganza Sagar alias Jackie - Reloaded has been censored by the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Censor Board with a clean 'U' certificate on Monday.
A sequel to director K. Madhu's yesteryears super hit Irupatham Noottandu (1987), Sagar alias Jackie – Reloaded is now all set to hit theatres on March 26 at 9:30 am in 101 screens, including three in Chennai. A 52 feet cutout of Mohan Lal will be placed at Trivandrum on the releasing day.
Rumoured to be the most stylish film ever made in Malayalam with extraordinary action scenes, the film revolves around Sagar alias Jackie (Mohanlal), a big underworld don in Dubai, who comes to Kerala as his enemies try to trap him in an explosives case. Notably, Pranav Mohanlal, son of superstar Mohanlal, is all set make his first-ever screen appearance as an actor alongside his father in this film.
Bhavana is the heroine. Other cast members include Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Suman, Manoj K. Jayan, Ganesh, Vinayakan, Baiju, Sumeeth, Sreeraman and others. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad films and scripted by S.N. Swamy, who also did the scripting for the original. Cinematography is by the director himself. Lyrics are by Rio Joy. Gopi Sunder has scored the music.
