Veteran Malayalam director Sathyan Anthikad's forthcoming untitled film produced by M.M. Hamza under the banner of Kala Sangham, has bagged an advance amount of Rs. 1.60 crore from theatres even at this time of economic recession.

After a gap of five years, Sathyan Anthikkad teams up with his favourite star Jayaram in this film which also has popular Malayalam-Tamil actor Narain in an important role with lead lady Kanihaa (also spelt Kanika).

Anthikad-Jayaram last film was Manassinakkare (2003). Shooting is progressing in and around Kuttanad. The director, known for making feel-good family stories, said this is a sentimental family movie laced with humour.

It revolves around a cable operator Benny Chacko (Jayaram) and his two younger sisters. Benny marries a state agriculture officer"s daughter Daisy (Kanihaa) hoping to get a big dowry, using which he can get his sisters married. But Daisy"s father cheats him at the last moment, leading to the twists in the story.

The film has Mamukhoya, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu and K.P.A.C. Lalitha in the cast. Venu is the cameraman. There are three melodious songs tuned by maestro Ilayaraja. The director is planning to release this film by May 1. Anthikad's last film was the hit Innathe Chinthavishayam (2008) featuring Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine in the lead.
