Short Kut, a poor remake of Udayanaanu Thaaram

The blockbuster Malayalam movie Udayanaanu Thaaram by director Roshan Andrews with Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in the lead roles has been remade in Hindi as Short Kut- The Con Is On with Arshad Warsi and Akshay Khanna in the lead roles. However it has to be painfully admitted that the remake is half-baked effort on the part of the filmmakers.

While Akshay Khanna essays the role which was played by Mohanlal, Arshad Warsi takes on the role by Sreenivasan and Amrita Rao has performed the part played by Meena.The film directed by Neeraj Vora however does not acknowledge the effort put in by Roshan Andrews in the making of the original version.

If sources are to be believed then Roshan Andrews was supposed to make the original Hindi version as well. He had even spent some quality time working on the Hindi version of his hit Malayalam movie. The politics behind the final change of plans is still unknown.
