Actor Vijayakumar attempts suicide

On Wednesday evening actor Vijayakumar was saved by the police from an attempt to suicide by cutting the nerves of his wrist. He was allegedly involved in a fraud case in which a gang had snatched away Rs. 25 lakhs carried by his brother's driver, at Kalamassery near Ernakulam on Tuesday.

In connection with the case Vijayakumar was questioned by the Thrikkakara police at the station. After preliminary questioning he was shifted to the next room for detailed questioning. During this time he cut the nerves of his wrist. The police immediately admitted him at the Sunrise Hospital in Kakkanad. Now he is in the ICU. More details about the case are yet to come.
