For the first time in his career, popular classical dancer-actor Vineeth, who recently made an outstanding performance in legendary Kalaignar Karunanidhi's Tamil film Uliyin Osai (2008), is all set to team up with stunningly beautiful actress Padmapriya in an upcoming Malayalam film titled Charulathayude Baaki, to be directed by debutante Sangeetha Padmanabhan. The film is an adaptation of a short story written by Priya A.S. with the same title.

Charulathayude Baaki revolves around the central character Amritha (Padmapriya), an educated girl who addresses the emotional and social equations of a newly-married woman. According to sources, the film will portray the institutional, emotional aspects of marriage in contemporary Indian society.

Produced by Parvathy under the banner of Mustard films, the film will be cinematographed by Shahnad Jaleel and edited by Manoj. Also in the cast are Manian Pillai Raju, Dinesh panikkar, Vanitha, Sreelatha and Vasantha Kokilam. More details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Vineeth is now waiting for the release of his forthcoming offbeat Malayalam film Banaras, directed by Nemam Pushparaj. In this film, Vineeth acts as Hari, a research student on folk dances, while Kavya Madhavan plays the role of a classical dancer for the first time in her career. Extensively shot at the locations of Banaras, one of the world's oldest living cities and the religious capital of India, the film is expected to hit theatres soon.
