Actress Ambika, the popular star of South India in 1980s, is set to come back to big screen. But this time, she is planning to work behind the camera. Yes! The yesteryear actress is all set to fulfill her desire of a directing a film. Her debut directorial venture will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Malayalam.
According to Ambika, her yet-to-be titled movie will be a clean family entertainer. She says although it will be a suspense thriller, it will have a few comedy sequences too. Her brother Suresh Nair has taken the responsibility of penning the story and screenplay and Ambitka herself will write dialogues for the movie.
Ambika is said to be planning to rope in all newcomers for the leads for her first directorial film. But it is not sure whether she will also act in it or not. Meanwhile, the technicians for the film are also not decided yet. Sources claim that muhurtha of the movie will be held in the first week of December, but its formal shooting will start in the second week.
However, Ambika debuted as the heroine in Malayalam film Seetha, but later become popular in all other south Indian languages like Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. So far, she has acted in more than 200 films. She has acted with South Indian superstars like Mohanlal, Rajkumar, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, Mammootty, Ambareesh and Vijayakanth.
