doctorates
to
actor
Mohanlal,
Oscar
winner
Resul
Pookutty
at
a
special
convocation
held
at
Kalady
campus.
On
the
occasion
the
versatile
actor
Mohanlal
was
referred
as
the
best
performer
after
the
actor
late
Sathyan.
In
his
reply
Mohanlal
said
that
he
consider
it
as
an
honour
and
privilege
to
receive
it
and
that
it
will
be
an
inspiration
for
him
on
the
forthcoming
Sanskrit
drama
Vikramorvasiyam.
His
first
Sanskrit
drama
was
Karnnabhaaram,
directed
by
Kavalam
Narayana
Panicker.
Actor
Mukesh
also
performed
in
the
same.
Resul
Pookutty
was
also
honoured
in
the
function.
Governor
Gawai
said
that
it
is
a
great
privilege
and
honour
for
the
Indians
because
of
Resul
and
Rahman.
Adding
on
he
said
that
Resul
Pookutty
raised
the
country
proud
with
his
Oscar
for
Slumdog
Millionaire.
Resul
Pookutty
in
his
acceptance
speech
said,
while
we
utilise
the
vast
potential
of
technology,
it
threatens
us
like
a
volcano.
