Shaji-Renji making a comeback after 15 yrs

The duo of Shaji Kailas and Renji Panikkar were once the most celebrated, the most sought after director–writer in the entire realm of Malayalam commercial films.

They have gone down in the history of Malayalam cinema as the collective brains that gave birth to some of the best action flicks, ever to be shown in a Malayalam movie theater. Some of the notable movies that they released included Sthalathe Pradhana Payyan, Ekalayavan, Thalasthanam and a lot more.

The duo"s trademark feature was that the heroes in their films, be it Mammootty or Suresh Gopi, always delivered spitfire and catchy dialogues. The characterization of these films was primarily based on the political affairs prevalent in Kerala.

After a hiatus of 15 years, the magnificent duo is making a comeback of sorts with their latest film, The King and Commissioner. Co-incidentally The King and Commissioner were two previously released separate hits, from the Shaji Kailas and Renji Panikkar camp. They are joining the two.
