All
is
not
well
with
the
Malayalam
movie
Adaminte
Makan
Abu.
Despite
getting
State
and
National
honours,
the
film
is
facing
a
severe
set
back
right
from
its
release
date.
Earlier,
it
was
producer
Ashraf
Bedi
who
got
its
screening
stopped.
Now,
it
is
a
TV
serial
director,
who
is
accusing
its
makers
of
plagiarism.
According
to
reports,
tele-serial
director
Abbas
Kalathod
has
claimed
that
he
had
done
a
short
film
named
Maruppacha
eight
years
ago
and
director
Salim
Ahmed
has
lifted
the
story
for
Adaminte
Makan
Abu.
Now,
Abbas
is
reportedly
considering
to
take
legal
action
against
the
producers
and
distributors
of
the
film.
Meanwhile,
a
court
in
Kerala
has
issued
an
interim
stay
order
against
the
screening
and
distribution
of
Adaminte
Makan
Abu
after
producer
Ashraf
Bedi
lodged
a
complaint
against
Salim
Ahmed
claiming
that
he
had
sent
the
movie
to
the
National
Film
Award
Committee
without
mentioning
his
name
as
producer
in
the
documents.
Now
the
screening
of
Adaminte
Makan
Abu
has
been
banned
in
the
country.
It
is
reported
that
Mammooty's
production
house
Playhouse
has
expressed
its
desire
to
release
the
movie.
However,
the
makers
of
the
film
are
yet
to
comment
on
the
accusation
of
plagiarism
made
by
Abbas
Kalathod.
