Adaminte Makan Abu nominated as Indian movie for Oscars

Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu, which has already bagged several National and State film awards, has now been nominated as India's official entry for this year's Oscars. Supran Sen, chairman of Film Federation of India, has announced that Salim Ahamed produced film has been selected for this year's Academy Awards.

Talking to the reporters, chairman of Oscar Nominations Committee of FFI, B Lenin said that Adaminte Makan Abu was in the race for Oscars with the Indian films like No One Killed Jessica, 7 Khoon Maaf and Dhobi Ghat (all Hindi), Rajinikanth-starrer Enthiran, KO and Aadukalam (Tamil) and Moner Manush (Bengali) and finally, the Malayalam movie has beaten 15 other films in consideration.

However, Adaminte Makan Abu is a family drama, which describes human values. Salim Kumar has essayed the lead role of the struggling Unani medicine and perfume salesman and he has won Best Actor National and State Film Awards for his wonderful performance. Zarina Wahab has played the female lead in the film.
