Amitabh surprised with huge tricolour garland

Amitabh Bachchan was surprised by two things on the Asianet Award function in Kochi on Sunday evening (January 09). The first surprise was that he was honoured with a huge garland, which was decorated with saffron and white flowers and green leaves. It indicated the tricolour flag of India. It was so big that more than six people held it while offering it to the Bollywood actor.

Big B was really amused and flattered by the huge-tricolour garland. He felt that wearing this big garland was a greater achievement than winning the Lifetime Achievement award. Posting the photo of garlanding on his twitter page, he wrote, "At the Asianet Lifetime Achievement in Kochi. The greatest achievement was wearing this ton of garland!"

Amitabh's second surprise on the occasion was that he had very least idea about the honours and Lifetime award. He felt somewhat a kind of dumbfounded when he started getting award and facilitation one after the other on the occasion. He tweeted, "Most humbling and gracious evening for me. They gave me Lifetime. Surprise, I was not told about it. Did songs scenes, very sweet."

He writes on his blog, "The respect and dignity that they accord me humbles me to an extent that I am unable to fathom or understand. I am but an ordinary individual that gets glorified through the medium that I work in."
