The
Association
of
Malayalam
Movie
Artists
(AMMA)
has
decided
to
increase
the
monthly
pension
of
its
veteran
artistes
from
Rs.
2,500
to
Rs.4,000.
The
AMMA
has
made
an
official
announcement
on
Sunday.
The
Association
has
also
included
names
of
21
new
artistes'
names
in
the
monthly
'Kaineetam'
(pension
scheme).
In
the
annual
general
meeting
of
the
AMMA
held
in
Kochi,
treasurer
Jagdish
said
that
the
Association
has
decided
to
hike
the
monthly
pension
from
Rs.
2,500
to
Rs.4,000.
He
added
that
the
total
number
of
the
members,
who
are
included
in
this
scheme,
has
touched
81
with
the
addition
of
21
more
veteran
artistes.
Meanwhile,
Jagadish
said
that
the
Association
is
planning
to
increase
the
funds
of
the
AMMA.
“With
the
present
funds,
this
scheme
will
go
smoothly
for
another
three
years
and
by
then
we
will
have
to
think
ways
of
putting
more
money
into
the
fund.
It
could
be
either
through
the
conduct
of
a
show
or
even
produce
a
film
like
we
did
the
last
time," the
AINS
quotes
him
as
saying.
The
annual
general
meeting
of
the
AMMA
was
attended
by
the
superstars
like
Mammootty,
Mohanlal,
Jayaram,
Dileep
and
many
others.
Actor-turned-minister
KB
Ganesh
Kumar
was
also
present
at
the
meeting.
The
association
also
took
some
important
decisions
on
management
of
Chitranjali
Film
Studio,
tackling
video
piracy,
permanent
headquarters
for
AMMA
and
initiative
in
charity.
