Kavya's Gadhama facing plagiarism charges

Kozhikode (PTI) A person hailing from Kozhikode district, today alleged that the main story of the Malayalam film Gadhama, released recently, was taken from one of his stories published in a Malayalam magazine, ten years ago. Speaking to reporters, Salim Kurukkalakath said his story was published in a malayalam weekly on October 20, 2000.

Salim said he had written the story while he was working in the Gulf. The film directed by renowned Director Kamal was released in Kerala recently. Salim alleged that though he had written to the Director on the issue in the initial stages of film making itself, Kamal had not replied. ''It became clear after I saw the film'', he said.

He asked how the film's writer committed the same mistake which he (Salim) had committed in his story that was published.
