Jayaram's Naayika based on Urvasi Sharada's life

Actor Jayaram's upcoming movie Naayika will be based the life of yesteryear actress Urvasi Sharada, who was a three time National award winning South Indian actress. Now, popular actress Padmapriya is playing the role of Sharada in the Malayalam film, which is being directed by Jayaraj.

The movie Naayika is about the life and times of an actress named Gracy, who was a leading star until she suddenly disappeared from the silver screen. A journalist Aleena wants to document her life story and her mysterious disappearance. Padmapriya is reprising the role of Gracy, while Mamta Mohandas appears as Aleena. The movie is expected to throw light on the dark secrets of Malayalam cinema.

Jayaram is playing the male lead in the movie Naayika, while Jagathy Sreekumar, Madhu and Sabita will appear in other supporting star cast. Sreekumaran Thambi and Arjunan are composing music and Seenu Murukampuzha handles camera work for the film, which is produced by Thomas Benjamin.
