Jyothirmayi files divorce petition

South Indian actress Jyothirmayi has filed divorce petition at the Ernakulam Family court on Wednesday seeking divorce from her husband. She is married to software engineer Nishanth.

Jyothirmayi's professional ambition is said to be the reason behind the break-up. Her husband has reportedly opposed her wish to act in more films. Reports say that their marriage has been in trouble since two years. They tied the knot on September 6, 2004.

Jyothirmayi shot to fame in Meesa Madhavan, where she crooned and danced for 'Chingamaasam Vannuchernnal...' song. Later, she appeared in films like Nandanam, Kalyanaram etc. She bagged the National Award and Kerala State Award for her wonderful performance in Bhavam.
