Actress
Kavya
Madhavan
had
decided
to
part
her
ways
from
her
husband
Nischal
Chandra
and
had
filed
a
joint
divorce
petition
in
2010.
Now,
the
Malayalam
star's
marriage
with
the
Dubai-based
Software
Engineer
is
officially
annulled
by
the
Ernakulam
Family
Court
on
Monday,
30th
May
2011.
Judge
Joseph
Thekke
Kuruvinal
had
sent
Kavya
and
Nischal
for
last-term
counseling
at
the
previous
hearing,
but
the
couple
had
said
that
they
could
not
live
together
as
there
were
irreconcilable
differences.
The
settlement
between
the
couple
came
after
several
rounds
of
talks
mediated
by
George
Sebastian,
a
Kerala
Congress
leader.
According
to
the
settlement,
Kavya
agreed
to
withdraw
her
petition
against
Nischal
and
his
family
under
the
Domestic
Violence
Act.
Both
the
parties
appeared
in
the
court
on
May
24
to
finalise
the
proceedings.
They
said
that
there
were
no
cases
pending
before
any
court
and
a
'No
Objection
Certificate'
will
be
submitted
to
the
High
Court.
Hence
the
judge
dissolved
their
two-year-old
marriage
on
Monday.
Kavya
Madhavan
tied
the
knot
with
Nischal
in
February
2009.
But
she
returned
to
Kerala
within
a
few
days
and
lodged
a
complaint
against
her
husband
and
his
family
for
causing
her
mental
stress.
Later,
the
Malayalam
actress
decided
to
call
off
her
wedding.
