Malayalam comedian Machan Varghese dies of cancer

Malayalam comedy actor Machan Varghese died of cancer at Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode on Thursday. The 50-year-old comedian was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at the hospital from the past three months. However, the actor is survived by his wife Elsee, son Robichan and daughter Rinsu.

The comedian's health condition worsened four days. So he was put on ventilator. The doctors attempted a dialysis, but his health condition did not support the process. He breathed his last at around 4.15 pm yesterday. His body was taken to his native village for funeral.

Machaan Varghese was a native of Elamakkara in Kochi. He started his career as a mimicry artiste and this mimicry paved him way to enter the film industry. He acted in several films in his career spanning two decades. He entertained the viewers with his unique body language and dialogue rendering.

ML Varghese is hailed as one of the finest comedians in the Malayalam films. Punjabi House, Thilakkam, Thenkasi Pattanam, Mannar Mathai Speaking, Meesa Madhavan, Friends and CID Moosa are some of the movies, which boast of his excellent performance. Best of Luck is his last film. His sudden death is a big loss to the Malayalam film industry.
