Mamta
Mohandas,
who
has
completely
recovered
from
Hodgkin's
lymphoma,
a
rare
type
of
cancer
has
been
awarded
the
Vocational
Excellence
Award
by
a
humanitarian
organisation.
Mamta,
who
was
visibly
thrilled
upon
receiving
the
award
in
Kochi
said,
“If
it
were
not
for
this
disease,
I
would
not
have
been
as
strong
a
person
as
I
am
today.
Every
time
I
meet
someone
new,
the
energy
I
feel
is
so
different."
After
battling
cancer
for
more
than
a
year,
Mamta
has
finally
recovered
completely.
Even
during
the
period
that
she
was
undergoing
chemotherapy,
Mamta
Mohandas
continued
with
her
acting
thereby
displaying
immense
courage
and
spirit.
Talking
about
her
responsibility
of
being
a
youth
icon,
Mamta
Mohandas
said,
“I
want
to
do
my
bit
to
inspire
the
youth.
A
lot
of
the
youth
today
are
laidback.
I
have
to
admit
that
I
was
like
that,
until
I
finished
schooling
and
started
college.
My
advice
to
the
youth
would
be
to
go
out
there,
try
whatever
they
have
not
done
before;
everything
is
possible.
You
just
need
to
have
the
desire
to
make
this
world
a
better
place."
