Mazhavillinattamvare about India-Pakistan relations

Malayalam movie Mazhavillinattamvare has a loud and clear message that the world is one family and it deals with the India-Pakistan relations. The movie has been made with a budget of Rs.2 crores The shooting of the movie is over and only the post-production work is remaining. It is expected to hit the theatres in August.

Mazhavillinattamvare
is the debut directorial venture of musician Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. The director has used the passion for cricket to defend his stand in the movie. He says that the lead character is a Pakistan cricketer, who arrives as a bowling coach at a cricket academy in Kerala searching for his roots.

Namboothiri initially planned to rope in controversial fast bowler Mohammed Asif for the lead role, but following the allegations of match fixing, he opted for Pakistani musician Abbas Hassan, whose passion is cricket. Mazhavillinattamvare will star Archana Kavi, Krishna, Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar and Kaviyoor Ponnama in the cast. Cricketers like S Sreesanth, Robin Singh, Syed Kirmani Kapil Dev and Roger Binny also make special appearance in the movie.

In addition to direction, Nampoothiri has also written the story, dialogues and lyrics for the six songs, which are composed by Nampoothiri's son Deepankuran. The director is in talks with the Indian government, especially Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed, to dub Mazhavillinattamvare in Urdu, which is meant for release in Pakistan.
