Malayalam
superstar
Mohanlal
has
irked
the
Indian
Army
which
is
seeking
the
withdrawal
of
the
title
of
Honorary
Captain
of
the
Territorial
Army
bestowed
earlier
on
Mohanlal.
A
few
months
ago
Mohanlal
became
the
cynosure
of
all
eyes
when
he
was
raided
by
the
Income
tax
department.
Now,
the
Army
Headquarters
in
New
Delhi
wants
to
take
away
the
honorary
title
awarded
to
Mohanlal.
The
issue
made
it
to
the
headlines
when
a
retired
officer
of
the
army
informed
the
officials
that
Mohanlal
was
using
the
title
for
commercial
purposes.
In
an
advertisement,
Mohanlal
apparently
claimed
that
he
was
a
war
veteran.
However,
the
Indian
Army
is
facing
opposition
from
the
ministry
level.
Defence
Minister
AK
Antony,
who
was
a
former
Chief
Minister
of
Kerala
thinks
that
the
decision
to
revoke
the
honorary
title
from
Mohanlal
might
lead
to
disappointment
from
the
public.
Meanwhile,
well
known
Malayalam
author
Sukumar
Azhikode
has
questioned
the
government"s
decision
to
appoint
Mohanlal
as
brand
ambassador
of
the
Territorial
Army
as
he
has
already
been
raided
by
the
Income
tax
department.
