    P Venu dies of heart attack in Chennai


    Malayalam director P Venu, who was known by the name 'Udyogsatha Venu', has died of a massive heart attack at his residence in Shenoy Nagar in Chennai on Wednesday night, 25th May. The 77-year old is survived by wife Sreekala and his son Vijayan and daughter Sreedevi.

    Venu movie Udyogastha, which is the first multistarrer in Malayalam, was a hit family film. CID Nazeer, Aalmaarattam, Taxi Car, Prethangalude Thaazhvara and Boyfriend are some of his popular movies.

    Multifaceted Venu did several experiments in his filmy career and brought recognition to Mollywood in National level. With his sudden demise, Malayalam film industry has lost a great personality. The final rites of the director will be held today at Thrissur, Cheruthuruthy on the banks of the Bharathapuzha.
