By Sampurn Wire

Here is some good news for all the Bengalees and Bengali movie lovers that the insanely gorgeous and stunningly beautiful Tamil superstar, Padmapriya Janakiraman is all set to make her first Bengali film debut. Padma, a trained bharatanatyam dancer was first seen in a Telugu film in 2003. Within a span of 5 years, she became a megastar and had already added 30 movies to her kitty, which were in different languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

This would be her first venture into the Bengali film industry. Starring opposite Prosenjit in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's Aparajita, it looks like she has set her eyes on a biggy to start her Bengali career. Padmapriya confirmed this by stating that she was actually approached by Aniruddha at the National Awards in Delhi, after which they discussed the role and she instantly fell in love with her character. She plays a Bengali girl named Kuhu in the movie. As the entire film will be shot in San Francisco, America, the Tamil beauty won"t get a chance to visit Kolkata.

When asked about Prosenjit, she was quick to reply that she is well acquainted with his work and loved his performance in Moner Manush. The glam role in Tamil gangster film Pattiyal and the role of Burkha in Tamil feature film Pokkisham are recognized as few of Padmapriya"s best works. Other films where she has proved her acting prowess are Sattham Podaathey, Pazhassi Raja and Idrundhu.

We wish Padmapriya all the best for her upcoming Bengali venture.
