Telugu actor Rana Daggubati is going places. After making his debut in Bollywood with Dum Maaro Dum, he is now turning towards Malayalam, as he has been reportedly approached to star in the film based on the legendary Travancore king Marthanda Varma.
Reports say that the forthcoming movie chronicles the life of Marthanda Varma, who ruled Travancore between 1729 and 1950. It is being produced by a Dubai-based company and made in Malayalam, Hindi and English. Poet and lyricist K Jayamkumar has penned the script, which will be directed by K Sreekumar.
The makers of the upcoming movie are keen to sign Rana Daggubati. However, the actor's representative has clarified that he has not been approached yet.
Travancore king Marthanda Varma's biopic has gained popularity after the vaults worth Rs 1 crore was discovered this year at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple.
